The world famous “5 a Day” campaign was launched by the Swiss Cancer League (SCL) in cooperation with Health Promotion Switzerland, the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and the Swiss Society for Nutrition (SGE) in late 2001. Today, the “5 a Day” campaign is supported by the Swiss Cancer League (SCL).

Healthy Eating Made Easy: The “5 a Day” minibus serves up fresh smoothies for delightful tasting, directly onsite. Useful tips and practical tricks from a well-trained staff show how easy and enjoyable a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables can be. Practical assistance for everyday life, such as a seasonal calendar and handy recipe cards are also distributed during each minibus appearance. In this way, we can show to people that one of the recommended five daily vegetable and fruit
servings can be fulfilled by a delicious smoothie or fruit juice (2 dl). The minibus is mobile and can be presented both outdoors and indoors. Through its flexibility
and thanks to its built-in kitchen, the “5 a Day” minibus can approach target groups even closer, as well as present the benefits and pleasures of a diet rich in vegetables and fruits, on the spot and in direct contact with the visitors. A famous TV chef from Switzerland is creating new smoothie recipes for the minibus.
Since the minibus was launched in May 2015, it has appeared at over ten events and exactly 3,000 cups (50 ml each) of smoothies have already been handed out. Visitors are very pleasantly surprised how delicious vegetable and fruit combinations taste. Parents and children, employers and employees, as well as visitors to events are made aware and informed about vegetable and fruit consumption in a refreshing way; according to the motto, “Experience & Enjoy”.
